We believe that when hiring a kitchen and/or bathroom remodeling contractor, price should not be the deciding factor. We have spent years perfecting our process to not only keep the project on budget, but also to minimize the inconveniences to you, the customer. Below is a short outline on how we approach our Denver kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects?
1. After the initial phone conversation, an appointment is made either at the client’s home or in our design studio, where we begin the “let’s get acquainted” process. At this meeting we will discuss any “must haves” and share additional ideas about the remodeling project. Some topics discussed may include:
We also take this opportunity to measure everything pertaining to the remodel and to look at the existing structure and electrical. If there are walls to be removed, if the first meeting is at the design studio, you need bring any existing plans; we will schedule a separate time to meet at your home for a walk through and measure.
2. Once all of the initial measurements and discussions are concluded, the next step includes drawing up a design and preliminary budget. Once agreed upon, we ask for a retainer based off of the total project amount. The retainer is applied toward purchase (of materials?). The finalizing of the design, the selection and specifying of product, and finally the organization of the bid process by speaking with all of the subcontractors that might be involved in the remodeling project.
3. If the client agrees to move forward, the next steps include issuing a work order and product contract. A labor contract and scope of work is then authorized by all of the parties. Also, at this time, a deposit is authorized for the purchasing of product and materials and purchase orders are generated and sent to vendors. This typically takes 4-6 weeks, during which follow-up meetings are arranged between all parties. During this period which is usually 4-6 weeks, the Designer, the Contractor, the Subcontractors and the clients will generally meet a couple more times.
4. The client is responsible for removing and packing personal items where the remodeling is to take place. Belongings need to be packed away and stored in a safe place and out of the work area. We will set up a temporary kitchen for the homeowners, just before the first delivery of product and the initial tear out of the existing kitchen.
5. We are careful about setting expectations. Unlike other Denver kitchen remodeling contractors, a full service kitchen or bathroom remodeling project CAN NOT be completed over a long weekend. Depending on the size and scope of the work, it can take as little as a week, but for a major kitchen or bath remodeling project, it is more likely to take more like 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer if the project is complex enough).
Plus we take care of everything regarding permits, inspections, and neighborhood HOA’s, cleanup, dump fees, haul-away and recycling.
We are not happy until our client is happy! And when we are finished with your newly remodeled kitchen or bathroom, we will STILL be friends!!
